How insanely unlucky: I bought a @Roku yesterday specifically for the spectrum TV app. It arrives tomorrow. TODAY! roku dropped the spectrum tv app. What is worse is that if I had gotten it a day earlier I would have been grandfathered in. Hopefully the work things out.

@RokuSupport @Roku I'm having an issue with one of my remotes. I'll swap out batteries and it'll fix the problem but the next day when I go to use the remote again I'll have the same issues

@rnarev @TheTechGinger @wirecutter Agree that’s a glaring hole, but if you have an Apple device you can AirPlay it to the Roku. I’m just not sure that one service is enough to tip googles awful product support over the Roku.

@Roku oh so your customer service number doesn’t work? YOUR TV’s ARE TRASH!!! You can’t even screen mirror to the TV without downloading a third party app that never works! AND THEN YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO CHARGE ME $14.99 RANDOMLY?! WTF AM I PAYING FOR? Who else pays for Roku?!

@patricknorton What kind of limitations are there on Airplay quality, since Roku won’t play ball with HBO Max? Resolution, frame rate, HDR (when it’s available) and audio quality/codecs

@raymierussell @richmondmike Yeah I've got a Roku just for NOWTV. The Fire Cube handles everything including Kodi to watch MP4 files - just not Now TV until now. Of course I backed the donkey version! Thing is you used to be able to sideload it until they put checks into the app - so it can work! Grrrrr.

@zippyelly I'm borrowing a friend's HBO Max login (traded my Funi login lol) so I have it on my phone and could probably put it on my ipad at least, don't have an HDMI cable to connect my laptop to the tv (and I wonder how long the battery would last if casting it to the roku....)

@hirens @saxena_puru @GPaid4 I think his feed got too noisy when he did this. In the end it’s your decision. I’ve held things he has sold and done well for instance TTD and WORK, sold Roku and feel like an idiot. Knowing when to sell is hard, but you can’t rely on someone too tell you when.

@sagevalentine I prefer to watch TV with Closed Captions on. It's just a preference, especially longer shows. But on my Roku, it doesn't work anymore, despite the fact that it worked the first time.

@AsagiKurosagi Dodged a bullet cause Funi has the worst streaming apps. Their Roku app uses old CC style "white text on black bg" subs. No typesetting at all.

@nbc @BravoTV why do all of your apps suck? They always have issues on my roku. They freeze and lock up on the Samsung tv app. My internet is great and I never have these issues with other apps. It’s always NBC and bravo related apps that have issues! FIX THEM! So frustrating!

I swear, the @hbomax_ app is the #Cyberpunk2077 of streaming apps. It is constantly freezing or just refuses to work. I get really tired of having to delete and reinstall the app on my TV pretty much daily, and still no @Roku option. I had hoped it would have been fixed by now.

So VERY STRANGE! I tried to tune in to @gregkellyusa on Roku @newsmax TV and it would kick me out EVERY TIME. I even reinstalled and the same result. What is going on? I suspect SUPRESSION. Anyone else having trouble?

@WanderinDreamr Ooof yeah, we've got the same problem here. Arti and I have HBO Max but can't use it on our Roku so we have a computer hooked up to the TV to watch it lol (it comes in handy for Critical Role too!)

So, basically Spectrum would rather lose a customer than try to keep them. I was told that they will not give me a cable box to use for free until they remedy their contract issues with Roku. So, they pretty much said either I watch tv on my phone or go somewhere else. Nice.

@hbomax The solution that you keep suggesting when I ask about the availability of a Roku app doesn’t work. When I try to stream from my iPad, I cannot use other apps at the same time.
